PBIS Corner

This week students learned about HUMILITY (Being proud of who you are and not thinking less of others). Next week our focus will be GRATITUDE, simply put, feeling thankful. Classrooms will brainstorm a list of people they would like to express GRATITUDE towards and writes notes to expressing what they are grateful for. Nothing better than an attitude of gratitude and we are very grateful of the support of our families; thank you.

When your plans change...

Thank you for letting us know as early as possible. Our office is only staffed by one person from 2:45-3:40 and we really need your help to ensure that messages regarding changes to how your child will be going home are communicated to your child and their teacher as early as possible.

The Mankins Minute

Hello from the Library and Technology lab! This year our one of our school goals is to expose children to a robust vocabulary. I am teaching new words to all of first graders and we are adding them to our word tree in the library. Many other students are looking at and talking about the word tree too! This year in the Mankins Minute I will be posting pictures of our library word tree and sharing our new words with all of our families. This week’s words were from a non-fiction book:

Ferocious- wild like a lion

Lunge-to move forward quickly

I look forward to sharing next week’s words with everyone! If you have any questions please feel free to contact me.

Ms. Mankins
