How has HIV and AIDS impacted the world?

HIV has help stopped discrimination against people with this disease. Aids eventually became the subject of myth, misinformation, and prejudice. Initially, it was believed that only gay men, intravenous drug users, haemophiliacs and others given contaminated blood transfusions were at risk; then Africans men, women and children started dying in their tens of thousands and then millions. There was many mis beliefs to this disease such as things like being able to get the disease by shaking hands with an infected person.

What have we done to cure this disease?

There's a lot of things that we've done to help find a cure for AIDS. For starters, in December 2013 Obama donated $100 million to the national health institute to help find a cure for aids. The treatment today for HIV /AIDS include prescription drugs, chemotherapy, and stem cell transplants.
