A big, thank you
A big thank you to the wonderful and supportive primer parents and students. Our play was a big success. I am grateful for all of you and your support with learning play lines and music lyrics. I just love how our ESD community embraced the occasion and worked together to make the show such a hit. I truly believe this is one of the best things at ESD, our community.
Reader of the Week
Reader of the week is going great. The students love learning from each other and hearing their peers read aloud to them. One student commented that "This is what it is like to be Mrs. Hogan." We are looking forward to the following students sharing their reading lives with us in April:
Week of April 7: Isabella
Week of April 14: Drew
Week of April 21: Cole
Week of April 29: Kate
Homework for the week of April 7
Homework for this week will be to work on math fair projects. These projects are to be brought to school on or before Monday, April 14. In addition to this project students will need to get back on track with their 15 minutes of nightly reading. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or materials requests as they arise.
EEI Dallas
The City of Dallas Environmental Education Initiative will visit the Primer and Kindergarten classes on April 24. Students will learn about what can be recycled in Dallas and what cannot. They will also learn about what really is trash and how some trash can be turned into treasure. This program comes right before our E-Waste Drive on Friday, April 25 at the LS. Take some time to gather any old electronics you would like to be recycled. Your child can bring these items to school on April 25.
To learn more visit the EEI website.
