We Are A.R.M.Y. Strong!!

Each day, we say the Continental Creed: "As a member of the Continental Army, I promise to be Accountable, Respectful, Motivated to Learn, and do mY best." We also remind students of our school goal of achieving a letter grade of a B in three years or less....Students will hear us say "Are you helping us get to a B in 3?" If we all focus on being ARMY Strong every day, we will reach this goal!

ISTEP Results

Mailings were sent out last week with information as to how to access your student's ISTEP results. Results can only be accessed online using the activation code. If you did not receive an activation code in the mail, you can contact the school secretaries to get those codes for students. Below is the link to the EVSC website with more information. Contact the office with any questions regarding the process.

Thursday is National Parent Involvement Day!!

We all know the value of a parent-school partnership in educating our students. Thursday, we celebrate the parents who are actively involved in their child's education by setting expectations for grades and behavior, holding students accountable for meeting expectations, actively checking RDS and the class websites to stay updated on topics and progress, being involved in our PTSA and our school events, and communicating your ideas, thoughts, and concerns with your child's teachers and administrators. Happy Parent Involvement Day, WMS Parents! Together, we are ARMY Strong!

PTSA Jeans Day on Friday for bottles of Shampoo

Help our PTSA collect shampoo bottles for the Hangers Clothing Bank! All shampoo bottles will go to help support the many students in our area who need the basic cleaning supplies. Students who bring in one bottle of shampoo can wear jeans on Friday. If they bring in two bottles of shampoo, they will be able to wear a hoody.

Bosse High School Seussical

Bosse High School will perform its fall musical, “Seussical” (the theatre for young audiences version) November 12 – 14 at 7 p.m. at Bosse. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and can be purchased in the lobby prior to each performance beginning at 6 p.m.

The performance is a little over one hour with no intermission. On Nov. 12, Bosse is hosting a community engagement carvnival from 6 ot 7 p.m.

In addition, families will have the opportunity to meet characters from the show at the school’s community engagement carnival. The carnival will take place opening night (Nov. 12) from 6 to 7 p.m. Families will be able to meet characters, enjoy carnival games, face painting and more.

What is “Seusisical” all about? “Seussical” brings to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie, and a little Who boy with a big imagination–Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Who’s.

New WMS Grading Policy

If you couldn't attend one of the eight parent meetings on our new grading policy last week, you can find the details of the new system at this link. At any time, you can calculate your child's grade in a class by dividing the number of 3's or 3+'s by the total number of assessments entered into the gradebook. Please know that students can apply to retake any assessments by working to learn the material and applying to the teacher. If you have additional questions, please contact Mr. Merriwether, Ms. Branson or Mrs. Shields.
