WIDA Testing coming soon!
I wanted all parents of Multilingual students (ELL- now called MLL) to be aware that your children will be taking the WIDA Access test in February. This is an annual test that measures how well students can listen, read, write and speak in English. We believe that knowing multiple languages is a strong asset and encourage families to use your child’s first language at home.
You will be informed of your child’s progress when results are finalized.
If you have any questions, please contact Anne Wolfrom or Luda Bolokhovska at 253-945-2938.
Thank you,
Mrs. Wolfrom and Mrs. Bolokovska
Dress for the Weather
We go out to recess when it is raining or cold!
Please send your student(s) to school dressed for the weather. In the winter we recommend students wear a warm coat every day. Other items that your child may prefer are a warm hat, gloves, waterproof shoes.
Please reach out to our Family Liaison Amy Lozano if your student is in need of a winter coat.
You can reach Ms. Lozano by phone at 253-945-2905 and email alozano@fwps.org
All-day Kindergarten
Research shows that students who attend kindergarten for a full day consistently make greater academic progress, especially in key areas such as literacy and math, as well as social and emotional growth.
All-day kindergarten students are better prepared to meet the academic demands of future grade levels, and are less likely to eventually need intervention or future additional assistance.
Families with a child who will be five-years-old by Aug. 31, 2023, are welcome to enroll their scholar online when Kindergarten registration opens on January 17, 2023. Click HERE to find more information about how to register your kindergartener for the 2023-2024 school year.
