Media Mania - Blockbuster Readers
As a way to encourage pleasure reading and bring in an added element of fun, we have chosen Blockbuster Readers as our theme for our reading campaign this year. Each month, we will have a different theme based on a popular children’s movie, and we will highlight books that represent the theme of that movie. Be sure to ask your students about the decorations in the front lobby!
Students will record their reading minutes on their reading logs each day, with a goal of 500 minutes per month. Students who meet their goal for the month will receive a star on their Readers Walk of Fame outside of their classrooms!
Parent Center News
Are you looking for extra resources to help support your child over the winter break? Please reach out to the Parent Center. We can provide you with activities to assist with grade levels standards. The Parent Center is open from 8:45 - 3:45 for your needs. You may email Xandria.McBride@gcpsk12.org or Ana.C.Morales@gcpsk12.org.
As the holidays approach, we have received calls expressing an interest in dropping off gifts for your child’s teacher. This is a difficult time for many and we appreciate your generosity, kindness and holiday cheer more than you’ll ever know.
Teacher gifts may be dropped off at the school from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. for each remaining school day prior to the Winter Break. In the spirit of safety, a cart will be located right outside the main entrance for you to leave your teacher’s gift. Please make sure your gift is clearly labeled with your teacher’s name and grade level. Teachers will collect gifts at the end of each day.
Again thank you and Happy Holidays to all of our Benefield Families!
