New Year, New Me!

Never underestimate the power of a fresh start. You finished 2020 strong. You learned how to navigate and master Zoom, Google Meets, Google Classroom, and various other learning platforms. You have accomplished many things you never knew you had the capabilities to master. When the school year started, many of you struggled with logging in, checking your emails, or turning in assignments. Now you are professionals, and you can do it with your eyes closed. You need to celebrate those accomplishments.

Now that you know what distance learning entails, you can take all the knowledge you have gained the last 5 months and use it to your advantage. Take this time to come up with a plan to help you maintain strong academic and social goals for the remainder of the school year. Write down your goals and make sure they are attainable. Put them somewhere to remind you of what you are working towards. Invite others who can support you with reaching your goals. Revisit your goals often to see if you have been on the right track. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to tweak your goals if they need to be adjusted.

Take advantage of your opportunity for a fresh start. Your counselors are here to support you with your goals. Please reach out to us if you need support with creating goals for 2021. We want you to have the most successful remaining school year possible.
