Site Leader Sought-
Are you a teacher with a passion for science and is ready to further build awareness of NGSS in PUSD? We are convening a team of NGSS teacher leaders for the 2016-17 school year. This team will deepen their knowledge of NGSS and help plan and facilitate learning for colleagues on NGSS including the January Professional Growth Day in 2017. We are excited to partner with Christine Adamson (PUSD Teacher in Residence at CSUSM) and Ingrid Flores, professor from Cal State San Marcos. Christine and Ingrid will facilitate our learning throughout the year. Summer training dates are June 21 and August 3, so teachers would need to be available both dates. More information will be provided to teachers directly once we confirm the team. Dates during the school year will also be communicated.
If you are interested in being part of this team, please let your principal know prior to April 29th. We will balance the district team of teachers so that there are 13 primary and 13 upper grade teachers for a total of 26 across our schools. There will only be one NGSS teacher leader per site so if two or more names of interested teachers are sent, LSS/PFT will determine who will be identified for the team based on a balance of the number of teachers needed by grade levels. We highly encourage representation from teachers in special education as well.
Although this will NOT be a Professional Learning Leader position, teachers will either be released with financial support from LSS for a substitute or paid on a timesheet.
Thank you for considering this exciting new opportunity!
