Lyric Poem
A few of the most common topics for lyric poems include love, friendship, and companionship.
Lyric poems are less structured and don't follow many specific rules, they are also mainly written in the first person.
EXPLANATION
If you want to write a lyric poem start by doing the following...
1.Think of the main topic that you want to base your poem off (like friendship, or love)
2. Write down all of your feelings about this topic and your experiences with this.
3. Start to compose your feelings into something that sounds more appealing
**BUT REMEMBER!! LYRIC POEMS ARE LESS STRUCTURED AND DON'T HAVE TO RHYME**
Examples of a lyric poem
From everlasting thy foundations deep,
Eldest of things, Great Earth, I sing of thee!
All shapes that have their dwelling in the sea,
All things that fly, or on the ground divine
Live, move, and there are nourished–these are thine;
These from thy wealth thou dost sustain; from thee
Fair babes are born, and fruits on every tree
Hang ripe and large, revered Divinity!

example #2
O Cyprus, set in the sea,
Aphrodite’s home in the soft sea-foam,
Would I lend to thee;
Where in the wings of the Lovers are furled,
And faint the heart of the world!
Ay, or to Paphos’ isle,
Where the rainless meadows smile
With riches rolled from the hundred-fold
Mouths of the far-off Nile,
Streaming beneath the waves
To the roots of the seaward caves!

Example #3
Sun warm,
The earth overflows
With good things.
Spring is purple
Jewelry;
Flowers on the ground,
Green in the forest.
Quadrupeds shine
And wander. Birds
Nest. On blossoming
Branches they cry joy!

Our own example
Cheese
O I can not live without thee
my sweet sweet cheese.
Cheese is amazing
It makes me feel free
Mozzarella, cheddar, provolone, and brie
Cheese is delicious,
and it fills me with glee.
Overall, I like cheese.
Without cheese... I'm bereaved
