Room 3 Class News
Week of October 10-13
Dear families,
We dove into pumpkins this week! Students learned about the parts of a pumpkin including the skin, stem, seeds, and pulp. Not many were excited to talk about the "yucky" inside part, but I told them they would get an opportunity to explore a pumpkin next week. We also read how pumpkins grow and get their nutrients. Harvest was a new word we learned, and it means to pick. Our rhyme was 3 Little Kittens.
Have a great weekend,
Katie Schmidt
Spookley
One of our books was Spookley the Square Pumpkin. Spookley is different than the other pumpkins, but that helps him save the pumpkin patch. Students got the opportunity to make their own Spookley. We got out the scissors this week! Everyone cut out their own square and finished up with some orange paint. Just like Spookley, all of our pumpkins are unique.
