Here are the new fall checklist items:

2. Complete FERPA Waiver - This is found in the individual school section of the Common Application. Choose one of the schools you are applying to and complete.
3. MATCH Common Application with your Naviance Account (Must complete FERPA waiver to do this)
4. Add Letter of Recommendation requests in Naviance (Must MATCH your account first). This is done in Naviance NOT in your Common Application.

COLLEGE VISIT INFORMATION
- Finalize a college application list (reach, goal, and probable schools).
- Attend a virtual Fall Open House Event, take a virtual campus tour, and meet with admission representatives at a zoom session
- Attend a virtual college fair: National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) virtual college fair , College Vine or National Catholic College virtual fair.
- Sign up in Naviance for a virtual college presentation that will primarily take place during out of school hours. Admission representatives from approximately 200 colleges and universities will be virtually visiting our school this fall. Check Naviance Student (School and College Counseling) for the day/time colleges will be presenting.
- Students in the Class of 2021 are encouraged to sign up. To attend a college presentation, each student needs to register two days prior to a meeting. Out of courtesy for college representatives, it is essential that students attend appointments they register for.
- If you need to cancel an appointment, please confirm your cancellation in your Naviance account. Remember, if you register for a college meeting and do not attend "college reps know if you do not show." If you have any additional questions, please contact your College Counselor.
- Please keep in mind etiquette for these visits. Dressing appropriately, using your camera with an appropriate background and asking questions should be considered.
LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATIONS
- A college counselor will submit a letter of recommendation for each student.
- Students must ask and confirm with their teacher(s) in person. Students need to complete the letter of recommendation google document and share it with each teacher including what college they want them to send to. All teachers must upload and submit their letters through Naviance directly to colleges. Only request LOR's through Naviance.
TYPES OF APPLICATIONS
- There are four types of deadlines to consider: Early Action (EA), Early Decision (ED), Regular Admission, and Rolling Admission.
- A student must decide whether to apply ED, EA or regular admission at each school. Some schools offer rolling admission so students will be evaluated once their application becomes complete (no deadline). ED and EA deadlines typically start around October 15th and November 1st.
College Counselor Questions & Answer Sessions
College Counselor Q & A sessions are on Wednesday September 16, 2020, & Wednesday October 7, 2020, from 2-2:30 P.M. Each session will be informational and will allow students to connect with their counselor about the college process.
