Dear Parent,
February brings Groundhog’s Day and Valentine’s Day. In the midst of all this excitement, it is important for your child to continue reading at home and completing daily homework assignments. Thank you for all you do!!
'100th' Day
Reminder, this Thursday, February 4th will be the 100th day of school. We will have lots of educational fun activities planned. In addition we would love to have the students dress up like they are 100 years old. We have included some ideas to help you.
Girls: printed skirt, pearls, eyeglasses (without lenses), sweater, pants with elastic waist, wig or curled hair style, curlers, gray hair spray or baby powder, knee high stockings, large purse, scarf, facial wrinkles
Boys: button down shirt, flannel shirt, overalls, suspenders, tie, eyeglasses (without lenses), drawn on mustache or beard, gray hairspray or baby powder, facial wrinkles.
Spelling
Our spelling words this week are from Lesson 13. The words and sentences are: me, run, thing, take, she’s, looking, little, title, will, shell, one, and two.
1. Frank goes to class at twelve.
2. He needs to make a good grade.
Math
In math we will be learning subtraction strategies.

Science
In science, we will be making predictions for Groundhog’s Day. We will also be studying the sun and the phases of the moon. Take time each night to observe and record the phases of the moon.
