Pre-AP Math ~ Mrs. Justice, Ms. Gregg and Ms. Parker

Wow! Busy end to the six weeks! I have input our Mock STAAR scores into Skyward as a “no count” grade so that you and your student can gauge progress.

This week we will be focusing on what causes the Earth’s Seasons as we move through learning how to model and illustrate this concept. In this new unit, students are expected to come up with a demonstration for the Season, Lunar Phases, and Tides (one demonstration each) using three “STEAM” themes. This is our first individual unit this year. I can’t wait to see what they come up with! You can follow along in our unit here.

STEAM Math ~ Mrs. Justice and Mr. Maddox

This week students will learn how to graph points in all four quadrants using ordered pairs of rational numbers and how to identify independent and dependent quantities from tables and graphs.

Students will also be taking their math mock STAAR test on Wednesday, February 21st. This will help us determine what areas we will need to work on with your student before the actual STAAR test coming up in May.
