October 24, 2022
News and Tidbits
The air is chilly and the leaves are changing colors. It is starting to feel like fall!
Congratulations to the Falcon Ridge middle school math team! They represented Falcon Ridge at the annual Boise State Math Invitational competition on Saturday. They won the "creativity in problem solving" award. Way to show academic excellence!! Congratulations Mrs. Willis and students!
Friday was the first middle school choir concert and they gymnasium was packed! The audience enjoyed the beautiful music that represented hard work and talent. We are proud of Mrs. Bassett and our choir!
Please read the coming events for October in this newsletter. We are looking forward to the PTO Trunk or Treat event on October 28th. Speaking of the PTO, they are currently hosting a fundraiser. Watch your emails for important information from your child's teacher. Also, the PTO fundraiser has been extended until Wednesday, October 26th.
This is a festive time of year, but our mission is to protect the learning environment, and therefore do not celebrate Halloween parties or wear costumes at school.
Our theme this year is Keep on Truckin'. Our character development will focus on a growth mindset. This month's character trait is excellence. Be sure and ask your student if he/she has earned a Falcon Card.
We are glad you have chosen Falcon Ridge Charter School as your school of choice. We are honored to partner with you in your child's education.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jorgensen

PTO News!
Now through October 26: Believe Kids Online Fundraiser! Our goal is $5000 which we’ll use to install two new playground features! There are also individual prizes for the top-selling student and the top-selling class. At the very least, please register your kids online as that participation allows the school to be entered for even more chances at funds. Finally, the fundraising platform includes a donation option which gives 100% of your donation directly back to our fundraiser.
Friday, October 28 from 6-7pm: Falcon Ridge Trunk or Treat! Join us for this annual family-focused event to celebrate the holiday. If you’re interested in decorating a vehicle or helping in any other way please sign up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/409084eadac2ea1f85-2022.

Good Manners for Kids to Have
- Saying “thank you” after something is received, given or exchanged.
- Using the word “please” when you’re asking for help or would like to receive something you want or need.
- Looking people in the eye when you greet them or if they’re talking to you. (Once toddlers master please and thank you, then begin working on eye-contact.)
- Greeting others with “hello” or “goodbye” as well as responding to someone when they greet you.
- Saying “I’m sorry” or “excuse me.”
- Holding the door open for others.
- Not speaking over others, but waiting until it’s their turn to talk.
