1. CHS YEARBOOK (NEW)
The FINAL Deadline to purchase a yearbook for the 2015-2016 school year is Friday, January 29th. The easiest way to purchase a yearbook is to go online and order at jostensyearbooks.com where you may pay by credit or debit card. A basic yearbook is $55.00, and the signature package is $70.00. Order forms will be passed out during lunches and are available in the front office as well as outside Ms. Gibson’s room, 220. Checks must be made out to Clark High School with the student’s name and ID number written on the check. This is the LAST opportunity you have to order a yearbook. There will be no extra books ordered to sell at the end of the year, so don’t miss out. Go online to order today!
2. PSHS HOCKEY

4. NATIONAL HONOR SOCIETY (NHS) INFORMATION
All sophomores interested in being inducted into NHS in the spring must join the Google Classroom (code r5xmwc2) and submit the three required forms by 5 pm on January 20. Students must do this from their school account. Parents and students are invited to follow @NhsClark for service opportunities and other announcements.
5. FREE SIGN LANGUAGE CLASSES
Plano Regional Day School Program for the Deaf will once again be offering FREE sign language classes this Spring for our Plano ISD teachers, parents, and community. All the details are on the attached flyer, and RSVPs can be sent to Tina.Vaguine@pisd.edu. See the flyer below for more information.
6. ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE FOR 2015-2016 SCHOOL YEAR
Reporting a student absent: A parent/guardian should call the student absence line to report a student absence. Call 469-752-7200 option 1 for English, or option 2 for Spanish, next press option 3 to leave a message. Leave the student name, ID#, reason for the absence, date of the absence and who is reporting the absence.
Parent notes: A student has up to (3) three days after an absence to turn in a parent/doctor note in order to receive an excused absence. The note should include the students name, ID number, reason and dates of the absence. A parent call does not excuse the absence.
Leaving school ill: If a student becomes ill while at school, he/she should go to the nurse's office. The nurse will contact the parents. The student and parent must then sign out at the attendance office before leaving. A student should not call/text you from their cell phone to tell you they are sick and to pick them up. Cell phone use is not allowed during class time. We have a phone available for students in the front office.
Doctor/Dental appointments: If your student must leave school early, PLEASE send a note with him/her so that he/she can be released from class. The student can sign out and wait for you in the front office. A doctor's note is required when the student returns to school. The state requires us to have a doctor's note when a student is gone for an appointment.
Other absences: Non-School activities must be pre-approved by the principal in order for the student to make up missed work. The Student Absence Request Form is available in the front office and on the Clark website in the FORMS section. The form needs to be filled out and turned in to the attendance office at least a week before the absence.
REMEMBER - NOTES CAN PREVENT UNEXCUSED ABSENCES!
7. DRESS CODE
We want to remind everyone to keep the PISD dress code in mind when making back to school clothing purchases. The district's dress code can be found in the PISD student/parent policy guide, which can be accessed at http://pisd.edu/about.us/policies/index.shtml.
