Keeping Elyria's parents, staff and students in the know.

Big picture

Dear Families,

Welcome Spring!

Be sure to hop on over to the Elyria Special Olympics Craft and Vendor Fair this Saturday, March 25, at Elyria High School.

The doors open at 10 a.m., and there's no fee for entrance, but donations will be accepted. Donations benefit the Elyria Special Olympics.

This event -- already in its seventh year -- is a family favorite, not just for the vast array of handmade goodies and specialty products you'll find there, but for the Easter fun that comes with it!

Many of the vendors will offer basket fillers like Easter candy, trinkets and crafts. The tables will stretch from one end of Elyria High's dining hall to the other.

Running concurrently in the gymnasium or courtyard (weather dependent) is an Easter egg hunt for children, ages toddler to 10.

There will be plenty of eggs to grab -- students and staff of the Special Olympics committee stuffed 6,000 of the colorful little plastic eggs with all kinds of goodies for this event.

The Easter Egg Hunt kicks off at 10:30 a.m. for the toddler to three-years-old category, followed by ages four to six at 11:30 a.m., and ages seven to10 at 12:30 p.m.

The Easter Bunny will also be hopping around from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to greet and take pictures with the kiddos. And there will be music, too. At Noon, Sharon's Signers will perform, followed by Mike Brand (singer/songwriter) at 1 p.m.

Hope to see you tomorrow at Elyria High School!
