From Mr. Clemente
Dear Winter Park Band families,
What a week! I am extremely proud of how the Winter Park Band students behaved and performed during our jam-packed week last week. I received many warm comments and wonderful feedback from parents, faculty members, alumni, administration, and others not only on the successful performances but especially on how positively they represented the Band and the school all week. This is definitely the best feedback any teacher could ask for!
All-County Band and Jazz audition registrations and Student Participation Contracts are due no later than next Monday, October 14. Please see previous emails for links to the registration forms. Audition excerpts can be found in the information section of the Google registration form linked in the email. Students planning to audition for All-County Band and/or All-County Jazz must register through the Google form for the appropriate ensemble AND turn in a Student Participation Contract to the Band office in order to complete registration for an audition. Please email both Mr. Smith and Mr. Clemente with any questions concerning All-County Band and/or All-County Jazz. Audition date and festival dates can be found on the Band calendar.
Per the announcement from OCPS this past week, the hurricane make-up day has been moved to Thursday, October 17 and Friday, October 18 is now a Student Holiday/Teacher Workday. The Marching Band rehearsal previously scheduled for 10/17 has now been cancelled due to the school day. 10/17 will now just be a regular school day followed by our Senior Night football game. More information on Senior Night for senior parents and students is forthcoming.
TRUNK-R-TREAT - Our annual Trunk-r-Treat will take place after rehearsal on Tuesday, October 29. All parents are invited to park next to our D-Lot rehearsal space after marching band rehearsal, decorate their trunks and pass out candy for the students. The students will be able to dress in costume for marching band rehearsal that afternoon - be creative (as long as you can still rehearse in costume)!
An itinerary for Marching Band MPA on Saturday, November 2 should be ready at some point this week. Students should be prepared to spend a good chunk of the late morning through the evening at Marching Band MPA. Please also make note of our Friday Marching Band Rehearsal on 11/1. This is our final rehearsal before Marching Band MPA.
Let's have a great week!

BAND BOOSTER PRESIDENT MESSAGE
Week of October 6, 2019
Thank you parents and families for all of your help this week. Everything went smoothly due of the assistance of so many, and our bands played so well at all of the events.
There are only 3 games left in the regular season, and there are volunteer opportunities for all games (particularly the away games, including this week’s game). Senior night is 10/17, so if you do not have a senior and can volunteer, please consider doing so. Please look at the Charms calendar to sign up to help (issues viewing volunteer opportunities on the Charms calendar seem to have been resolved).
Have a great week everyone!
