Kinetic vs Potential Energy
The battle for the best energy
Lets start with potential energy. Potential energy is something that has the potential to move but it is not. Kinetic is when something is moving. Let me tell you some examples. When a football is placed on a tee it is potential energy, when the football has been kicked then it is kinetic energy.
This is potential energy because it is not moving.
This is kinetic energy because it is moving.
It looks good!
The field goal has been kicked!
Now do you get the difference between potential and kinetic energy? I hope so. Remember that potential energy is something that has the potential to move but is not, and kinetic energy is something that is moving.
