It is essential that teachers use technology in the classroom. iPads are one way teachers can integrate technology and engage students. Apps on the iPad can be use for students to create, collaborate, communicate and develop divergent thinking skills. iPads apps can also help with word fluency, reading fluency and math fluency skills. The apps also help differentiate instruction for students as they automatically adjust to the students learning based on errors and correct answers. Teachers can use ipads apps for instructional purposes and assessment purposes. iPads and apps are versatile and can be incorporated in many ways into our classroom practice.

Assessment: This web based app was developed to improve oral reading fluency. This assessment tool can be used by teachers similar to a running record. It can be used by students as they listen to themselves read a passage. It gives feedback on the words they have missed.
Show Me
Collaborate, Create, Communicate: Show me is a web based app that allows students to demonstrate their knowledge and thinking as they complete tasks. This app can also be used as an assessment tool as the teacher can watch the video and assess student learning.
Haiku Deck
Collaborate, Create, Communicate: This is a presentation app will allow students to create presentations on a variety of topics. This app has limited space for words and the images really convey the message.
