News from the Nurse

From the Nurse: If your child needs medication at school, please be sure the proper forms are completed and signed by your child’s health care provider and that you have also signed the form. Forms can be found at https://district.d303.org/departments/health-services.

  • Please do not send medication with your child. There are circumstances when a child may carry certain emergency medications, such as epi pens or inhalers to school or on their person with the proper paperwork and discussion with your school’s nurse. Please clear this with your school’s nurse in advance if your child has not self carried in the past.

  • Please check expiration dates. We cannot administer expired medication.

  • Medication and any health-related paperwork, such as physicals, immunizations, and doctor’s notes can be dropped off by a parent or trusted adult to your building’s nurse during Institute Days, August 9 and August 10 from 8:00-3:00. If you have any questions or need to arrange an alternate drop off time, please contact Sherry Wisdom, Certified School Nurse, at sherry.wisdom@d303.org
