who gets prostate cancer?
Men who eat a lot of red meat or high-fat dairy products seem to have a greater chance of getting prostate cancer. Some studies have found that obese (very overweight) men may be at greater risk for having more advanced prostate cancer and of dying from prostate cancer. As you get older you have a more likely chance. If your family has had prostate cancer you have a better chance to get it.
How is prostate cancer treated?
Depending on the situation, the treatment options for men with prostate cancer might include:
Expectant management (watchful waiting) or active surveillance
Surgery
Radiation therapy
Cryosurgery (cryotherapy)
Hormone therapy
Chemotherapy
Vaccine treatment
Bone-directed treatment
