Spectacular Seahorses
By: Rebecca Lovett
Introduction
Imagine a small little friend hiding and play in the coral reefs. Well that friend it a seahorse. Seahorse are small and helpful creatures This petite animal moves, looks, and lives in a spectacular underwater world!
Movement
An animal having a world record for the slowest swimmers? Seahorses only swim about five feet per hour. These underwater friends move their fin fast like a hummingbird but they do not move fast They move slowly because the wave current is too big. Not only that but seahorses prefer to swim with another seahorses with their tails linked together. Even though they move slowly, they do make it through the ocean obstacle!
Apperence
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple, you would think they are just the colors of the rainbow. Well it is just a few of the colors that seahorses are. The colorful creature can camouflage itself to look like coral and other things around it. It is similar to a camillain! Also the males are usually bigger than the woman because males are the ones who have the babies.
Habbitat
Whoosh! Went the seahorse as it glided among the coral reefs. Seahorses love to live in warm and shallow water where there are coral reefs. These friendly underwater friends lives in 78 degree water. They live in coral reefs because they is plenty of food and places to hide from predators. Also did you know that seahorses can look and blend in with the coral?
Closing
Seahorses are amazing. There habbit, appearance, and movement in this underwater world is spectacular! In the same way they are unique and different than any other animal in the deep blue sea. Therefore these animals are amazing in there own way!
Go Fish
For my go fish I was under my budget. My budget was $250.00 and I spent $207.67. I was under budget by $42.38. The fish I got were the Strawberry dottyback, the Australian rainbow fish, and the Moonrise Terrta. My favorite part of this whole project was either picking out the fish or decorating the fish’s tank. The decorations I got were a pink pixie castle and a few plants. I got the most learning out of math and trying to stay under budget. This was a fun activity and I hope you try it too!
