Message from the Principal
Dear Englewood eLearning Students and Families,
Happy Fall! I trust you are staying warm during this preview of the colder months. I wanted to take a moment of your time to share some very exciting updates with you.
Over the past few months, our eLearning staff and teachers have been hard at work on many aspects of Englewood eLearning. Whether they have been planning, exploring new tech tools, or supporting Edgenuity work, our team has put in countless hours to ensure the success of our students. Another important aspect they have been supporting relates to who we are as a community. As with all schools, culture is a critical component of a school’s success. Though Englewood eLearning may be entirely remote, we strongly believe that we still have the opportunity to develop an innovative and positive culture focused on learning and student growth.
We are proud to share with you that we have collaboratively developed a vision of where we see our students when they complete their Englewood eLearning experience. Our vision is this: “Englewood eLearners are Empowered, Global Citizens.”
We feel this vision represents how online learning connects us with learning not just within the Englewood community, but throughout the state, nation, and world. The context in which we engage in learning has the potential to empower our students not only in their education, but in all aspects of what they value and want to pursue. This vision is lifted by our core values, or as I like to call them, our pillars: “Flexibility, Perseverance, and Digital Citizenship”. We know these pillars will be the supporting values that will bring our vision to life, and we look forward to supporting your student every step of the way on our journey toward our vision.
We still have much to do to ensure our students fulfill the vision of becoming empowered global citizens. We look forward to the evolution of this experience to best meet the needs of our students, and we believe that our vision and pillars are a great next step in that evolution.
Thank you for your partnership in Englewood eLearning. Have a fantastic weekend-
Regards,
Paul Whitaker

Picture Day
We wanted to update you on where we are with regard to eLearning picture day. Currently, we are looking at doing this in November. However, we want to make sure we do this as safely and efficiently as possible. We are looking to secure a safe facility in which this can occur. However, there are a number of logistical items we need to properly address in order for this experience to be safe and efficient.
We will continue to update you as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience with this process.

However, the learning opportunities will look, sound, and feel a bit different, as they will have more of an emphasis on asynchronous learning.

Original Works Art Fundraiser
Dear Families,
During the past couple of weeks, we have been working on creating a piece of art in our Art Room Zoom meetings. This artwork could be used for the Original Works Fundraiser or your student may have another masterpiece that they have created. Either way, if you can participate in the fundraiser that would be great! We are raising funds to purchase more art supplies and possibly pay to have a guest artist join us for our synchronous learning time.
Please see the attached instructions. It's pretty easy. I tried it myself. They even have masks this year! If you have any questions, please let me know.
Thank you for your support,
