Loss
The loss of a love one is so hard to face,
you just want to hide,
go somewhere and escape!
But death is something,
we all must go through,
I know it’s hard,
when it’s someone you loved and knew.
Just know now,
he is in a better place,
no more hurt or pain shall he face.
It seems unfair and yes this is true,
but he is in Heaven now
watching over me and you!
God has called him home to rest!!
And he’s being well taken care of
Because God knows best!
you just want to hide,
go somewhere and escape!
But death is something,
we all must go through,
I know it’s hard,
when it’s someone you loved and knew.
Just know now,
he is in a better place,
no more hurt or pain shall he face.
It seems unfair and yes this is true,
but he is in Heaven now
watching over me and you!
God has called him home to rest!!
And he’s being well taken care of
Because God knows best!
Why this poem?
I chose this poem because I can relate to it. I have lost so many loved ones in my life and the anniversary of the death of my best friend is coming up. This poem hits point on how I felt when I lost him and when I just recently lost my uncle.
Lyrics
One day SHY OF eight years old
Grandma passed away
I was a broken hearted little boy,
blowing out that birthday cake
How I cried when the sky let go
with a cold and lonesome rain
Momma smiled said don't be sad child
Grandma's watchin you today
'Cause there's holes in the floor of Heaven
and her tears are pourin' down
that's how you know she's watchin'
wishin' she could be here now
And sometimes if you're lonely
just remember she can see
there's holes in the floor of Heaven
and she's watchin' over you and me
Seasons come and seasons go
nothin' stays the same
I grew up fell in love
met a girl who took my name
Year by year we made a life
in this sleepy little town
I thought we'd grow old together
Lord I sure do miss her now
But there's holes in the floor of Heaven
and her tears are pourin' down
that's how you know she's watchin'
wishin' she could be here now
and sometimes when I'm lonely
I remember she can see
there's holes in the floor of Heaven
and she's watchin' over you and me
Well my little girl is 23
I walk her down the aisle
it's a shame her mom can't be here now
to see her lovely smile
They throw the rice
I catch her eye
as the rain starts comin' down
she takes my hand says daddy don't be sad 'cause
I know momma's watchin' now
And there's holes in the floor of Heaven
and her tears are pourin down
that's how you know she's watchin'
wishin' she could be here now
and sometimes when I'm lonely
I remember she can see
there's holes in the floor of Heaven
and she's watchin' over you and me
Watchin' over you and me
Watchin' over you and me
Watchin' over you and me

Holes In The Floor Of Heaven Lyrics
Song relation
This song relates to the poem because it is about getting through someone you love passing away. God is with you every step of the way. I think some people forget that, he also has greater plan for all of us. When someone we love passes away it isn't goodbye it is more like see you soon. Only next time there won't be any fear or sadness.
Original poem
A few more tears and then they will cease
Because we know you're now at peace.
The path was rocky
The wait was long
But the hurt is over, and the pain is gone.
A spirit lifted by God's good grace,
and healing comfort from his embrace.
A man once burdened by the tests of life,
Now has no stress and no more strife.
Walking tall and feeling free
A shining smile for all to see
Yes, just one more tear one more sigh
Because we know this is not goodbye.
