Mustang Monday Message
Mustang Family,
On Wednesday, we have Spring Picture Day for those that would like to participate. If you would like to order pictures, you will find an order form below with a website link to order pictures. Because students won't be bringing a picture packet to school (the ordering is all done online), please make sure your child's teacher knows your child would like their picture taken on Wednesday.
Next Monday, we will be celebrating Valentine's Day as a school. Students are allowed to bring valentines IF they bring one for each student in the class. However, special valentines are not to be exchanged at school. Our student council will begin their annual Val-O-Gram fundraiser starting tomorrow (more details below). The proceeds from this fundraiser will go towards student council's BYU leadership conference.
In an attempt to celebrate the good work happening in our schools and to identify areas where we can improve, we ask that you complete this anonymous survey. Thank you! Here is the link to the survey: Nebo School District Stakeholder Survey 2020-21. Our survey will close on February 28, 2022.
Thank you all for your incredible support. Best,
Principal Balli
Familia Mustang,
Mejor,
Director Balli

Please join us for our next PTA meeting on Tuesday, February 8 at 10:30 am. Nancy Miramontes, a Meadow Brook parent, will be sharing information with us about the importance of School Psychologists and what parents can do to encourage school districts to hire more. Nancy herself is an experienced School Psychologist and an Assistant Clinical Professor at BYU. Attached is information from Nancy that explains the role of School Psychologist. If you are not able to attend this meeting in person, a Zoom link is available.

Utah Department of Health Medicaid
Utah has one of the highest rates of uninsured children in the nation. Covering kids with health insurance is critical to Utah’s communities. Studies have shown that a child’s health coverage reduces the number of days parents have to miss work because of a sick child. Children with health insurance stay healthier because they receive medical care sooner and more regularly.
CHIP and Medicaid cover Utah children with complete coverage, ranging from regular doctor visits to emergency care. For no cost, children are able to access preventive and routine care including immunizations, dental cleanings and well-child exams. A family of four can earn up to $53,000 annually and qualify for free or reduced cost health insurance.
For more information about these programs, please visit coveringkids.health.utah.gov. If you have additional questions or would like to order materials to distribute, please contact Jorge Fuentes at the Utah Department of Health at 801-538-9171 or jfuentes@utah.gov.
The facts are compelling: children do better when they have quality health care -- they grow up stronger, ready to learn and are prepared to contribute to their communities. Thank you for your help in telling the families in your community that CHIP and Medicaid are resources available to them!

Safety
- We are working hard to teach students to use the crosswalks. We are concerned about the number of students running across the pick-up lanes and parking lots. If you can help us teach your children about this that would be great!
