Longs Creek Reads!
The 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders are busy reading books for this year's Texas Bluebonnet Award. Students who read at least 5 of the 20 books nominated by the end of January will get to vote for which author wins this coveted award. As a bonus, they will also get to come to the Longs Creek Bluebonnet Voting part at school! You can check out the 20 nominees here: Texas Bluebonnet Award
Summer Readers Celebrate
Students who completed the Summer Olympics Reading Challenge earned bronze, silver and gold medals and celebrate with ice cream sundaes!
Read Around The School
One of our favorite traditions at Longs Creeks is going Trick or Reading for great stories on Halloween! Students pair up with their buddy classes and choose different stories to listen to. Here, Assistant Principal, Genaro Mendoza reads to students.
1st Graders Write with Quills
The 1st Graders have been learning about how things change over time. As part of their research, they actively explored forms of communication, recreation, and transportation from 270 years ago during Colonial times.
