Conrad Owl News
December 2020
What's going on at Conrad Early Learning Center...
Happy December! Can you believe we are finishing out the unusual year or 2020? Here's to a better year of 2021. I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
I want to send a huge THANK YOU to all of you for your diligence and communication regarding our health and safety protocols. We have been very fortunate to remain with in-person learning this first semester. Our proactive measures of asking health questions, nurse's communication with families, remaining in cohorts, frequent hand washing, and wearing masks has all proved to be successful for our students and staff. Please remember, if a household member is tested due to exhibiting COVID-like symptoms, everyone in the household must stay home until negative test results are available. If you have questions regarding this guideline, you may contact Nurse Sheena. I encourage you to continue to call the office or school nurse to communicate any illnesses or possible COVID contacts. In addition, if there were COVID cases at Conrad, communication would be sent to families. If there was a direct contact within a cohort, I would personally contact you. I am thankful for all we have done as a community to support what we know is best for our students. Thank you! Let's continue to hold strong as we return in January.
I hope your child enjoys the new Conrad mask they received last month. I would encourage each of you to send your child to school with their mask as another added layer of health safety as we return in January. District 8 and Conrad are determined to provide our students with in-person learning opportunities throughout the remainder of this school year. It will take all of us continuing to be diligent in following the health guidelines and protocols not only within the school setting but also in our community. Again, thank you for all you are doing to maintain the health of our students and staff.
When students return in January, we will begin a new unit of study: Buildings. Please see the linked letter for recyclable items you can begin to collect and donate to the classroom. Our teachers are very appreciative of all the items that have been donated and all your support thoughout the year. If you would like to gift your child's teacher for the holidays, there is a Teacher Wish List posted on the Conrad website under the PTO link.
I hope you take the time over the winter break to enjoy the moments with your child and build lasting memories. If COVID has taught us anything it is that every moment with family is precious. I'm sending all of you, my Conrad family, a virtual hug as we leave for the holidays and winter break. Take care and stay healthy!
Kindly,
Stephanie Lee
