A Word from Principal Haynes
Greetings Parents,
Thank you Parents for your child's participation in the Storybook/Vocabulary Parade!! We are making memories to last a lifetime and it was refreshing to see so many scholars participate. We are capturing those memories in our yearbook. Yearbook pre-sales are happening right now for $25. The price will go up in January, so please lock in this low price now. Yearbooks are delivered at the end of the year and we hope to make this one a memorable one!! See the flyer below and you can purchase this in the estore.
Also, next week your child can get a FREE flu shot right here at the school. You MUST sign up using the link below in order for them to be able to get it. This is being done through a partnership with Broward Health and Broward County Public Schools. See the article below with the link for more information.
Lots of field trips this week. If your child is going, please remind them of appropriate behavior when they are in "public". Your continued support is always appreciated!!
Let's make this another great week of High Expectations--Every Scholar--Every Day!!!

Flu Shot Clinic Coming to Village!!
Parents, I encourage you to sign up for Village Elementary School's upcoming in-school flu clinic by visiting browardflu.com.
As you may know, many schools were knocked out by the flu last year, as the 2017-2018 flu season was the worst in a decade.
This year, help your child, our school, and our community by participating in our flu clinic. They take place during the school day, and the copay is $0.
Our goal is to ensure that flu shots are available to 100% of our district’s students. Help us as Broward County Schools Fights the Flu!
To sign up your child for our in-school, $0 copay flu shot, go to this website: browardflu.com

Field Trip Expectations
Field trips are an opportunity for us to provide scholars with exposure to many activities and events throughout the county and state. We want our scholars to participate and field trips are open to ALL scholars. That said, I need YOU in partnership with us to explain to scholars expectations regarding behavior. When teachers take scholars off campus, it is imperative that they know and understand how to LISTEN to adults and are responsible to stay with the group. The last thing I want is for a child to get lost and/or hurt on our watch. Make sure that you have conversations with your child about this.
If your child has been struggling with maintaining appropriate behavior on campus, it MAY become necessary for administration to have a conversation with you about whether or not the field trip is appropriate for your child. If you are in doubt, talk with your child's teacher about their behavior. Field trip payments are non-refundable and I don't want anyone to lose money because of their child's poor choices. Let's partner together to make sure our scholars understand the expectations of field trip participation.
Upcoming Trips:
- November 7: 2nd-3rd Grade Charlotte's Web
- November 7: 5th Grade The Wright Brothers
- November 13: 1st Grade Robinson Crusoe
