A's Tickets Fundraiser!

Another fundraiser! This time selling A's tickets. I have been in touch with the A's and they set up a website specially for tickets to benefit SEED. The main date that we are selling for is Thurs, June 19 (the week after school ends), but we can also sell tickets for Mother's Day, Memorial Day and a couple of other dates. Each ticket costs $15 of which $5 will come back to SEED after the fundraiser deadline which is April 30. Last year we sold almost 200 tickets (at a slightly lower price) so we can hope to make as much as $1000 from this fundraiser.

April 28-May 2: Data Collection Week for Oakland Schools

SEED was awarded a literacy lab grant, Oakland Reads 2020 through the Rogers Family Foundation! We will begin work in setting up the lab after June 13th. Tables, power, and internet will be part of the set up. With all that, SEED will also participate in engaging its families to be trained and as a result, they will be entitled to a refurbished desktop computer for their home. More so, our families will get assistance in accessing affordable internet at $10 monthly cost.

Our students will get the opportunity to use the lab for SRI testing, Reading A-Z support, technology integrated lessons, research, etc. We will also be provided a program (bilingual) to support the reading acceleration for our students. In order to comply with the grant, SEED will use 2nd & 3rd literacy scores to measure its success. More information to come!

zSharp - Music Education for all!

SEED has the opportunity to bring zSharp to our campus! Through zSharp, SEED will provide music education to all of our students using instruments, dance, multicultural & bilingual songs. zSharp will pay for 75% of the cost & SEED will pay 25%, provide professional development for its music teacher, embedded assessments, & instruments. By doing so, SEED will be able to release some funds and allocate to other school priorities. More to come!
