We realize this announcement has created many questions for you. We don't have all the answers at this time, and are anxiously waiting for our CCSD Athletic Department meeting for some additional guidance. BCHS Athletics along with our coaching staff will continue to provide updating information as we receive it. Here are a couple answers to questions we do have answers for:
1. My child is a senior who decided to graduate early, is he/she eligible to play? NO. Unfortunately, the NIAA regulations do not allow for a students who has graduated to continue participating in high school athletics. This holds true for competitions as well as practices. Refer to https://www.leg.state.nv.us/NAC/NAC-385B.html#NAC385BSec222: NAC 385B.706 General requirements for eligibility of pupil. (NRS 385B.060)
2. Do I still need to complete Register My Athlete (RMA)? YES. If you already completed your RMA for this year 20-21 (based on what sport you will be participating in), you should be good. However, please log in to your account and verify that your child is registered for the Spring AND/OR Fall sport.
3. What do we do about physicals? Please see below for specific information/correct forms for physicals.
4. Do we have to pay for athletic registration this year? BCHS' Athletic department will be waiving the registration fees for our athletes this year (20-21). If you HAVE NOT paid on RMA, DO NOT PAY. Our office will go through each individual registration and waive the fee. If you DID pay already we will either apply your payment to your 21-22 athletic registration OR, issue a refund. If a refund is not requested, we will automatically apply it to next year. If your student is a SENIOR, we will automatically issue a refund for any payment we received.
RETURNING BCHS STUDENTS who previously participated in a sport
1. All returning BCHS students must complete PHYSICAL FORM E only (See attachment) and scan this into RMA for the Physical. You do NOT need to complete the NIAA Physical Form (also attached) if you competed in a sport last year and we have your original physical on file.
STUDENTS NEW TO BCHS (first time in CCSD, incoming freshman, transfers from within CCSD)
2. Will be asked to provide 2 current proofs of address
3. Transcripts will be required
MAKE SURE TO SCAN ALL REQUESTED DOCUMENTS (Physical Form, Authorization And Release Form, Proofs of Address, Transcripts etc...) Into RMA.
