From the Principal's Desk
- Classroom teachers - your attention to being in the gym with your class no later than 7:30 each morning is critical.
- Thank you for the good conversations had during goal setting meetings this week. It made us proud to see how you want to grow in your teaching profession!
- Goal is 100% attendance submitted every day this upcoming week. Will you do your part?
- Want to earn Jeans Days??? Donate to Burleson Opportunity Fund and receive 6 jeans stickers just for donating! BOF is a unique program that our city and school district support to provide college access to any student in BISD. Hundreds of BISD graduates have benefited by this financial support for the past many years. Let's continue to keep this a priority in our community! Will you do your part, no matter the amount, to help Norwood reach 100% participation? You can donate by cash, check or the easiest way is through payroll deduction on this Google Form. Hoping to reach our goal by the end of this week.
- More info on Progress Reports: By district grading policy and campus decision, progress reports will go out only for students who have an average of 75 or below in any subject. You will email the progress report through Skyward in addition to sending a required printed copy that is to be signed by parents and returned to you for you to keep on file. Just a reminder to make sure all of your grades have been submitted (policy states that you have 5 school days to post a grade after an assignment).
- On Wednesday, we will devote some time during morning announcements to remember the fallen from 9-11.
- Personal Growth opportunity: Webinar - Engagement Strategies for Students with Attention Challenges: Lower Anxiety and Raise Confidence Since it is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 12 @ 1 pm, you can still register and then watch the recording at your convenience. https://home.edweb.net/webinar/studentachievement20190912/

From the Counselor's Corner
Norwood Faculty,
Allow me to begin by saying how honored and grateful I am to be serving along side such an AMAZING group of people! Y'all are the BEST!
I also want to thank you for signing up for guidance classes. I am in the process of finalizing the schedule for the year and will send it out once it is complete!
Several of you have already utilized the confidential teacher referral form for students which is allowing me to assist students in helping them strive for their personal excellence.
Finally, I am always eager to hear your input regarding the school counseling program so feel free to offer suggestions!
