Holiday Traditions Concerts - December 19

All of Hilltop's students in Kindergarten through 4th grade have been working on a variety of holiday and winter songs since November. Students will share their songs in the “Holiday Traditions” concerts on Wednesday, 12/19/18. Concerts are held in Hilltop’s gym.

Please have students dress neatly (no logos on shirts, no hats, no sweatpants/exercise pants). Also, heavy sweaters/tops can be too warm to wear when performing.

Performance times are:

Grades 1 & 2 - 9:00 a.m.

Grades 3 & 4 - 10:15 a.m.

Kindergarten - 2:30 p.m.

Let's go out for recess!

The weather may be colder, but Hilltop students and teachers make every effort to go outside for a 25-minute recess each day. If we are outside for morning arrival, we will most likely be outside for recess.

Please be sure your child has dressed appropriately - jackets, hats, gloves. Whatever they wear to school, teachers will have them wear outside for recess.

All Hilltop and Mountain View students attended a school bus safety activity recently. Students were reminded of bus stop safety, as well as conduct, courtesy, and safety information while riding the bus. All the students took part in an evacuation drill from the bus as well.

Watch that Screen Time!

As the holiday season approaches and children may have more screen time on electronic devices or receive them as gifts, it's a good time to revisit family expectations surrounding electronics usage.

THIS ARTICLE has some good resources to help parents set guidelines to help their children use technology responsibly.

Be sure they pick up a book for part of their break too!
