Victorian Toys
Toys of the Victorian Era
During the Victorian Era there were great big factories that made all of the toys. The poor people that couldn't afford that much only bought tin toys and clockwork. The families that could afford much more got wonderful gifts like train sets, rocking horses, toy soldiers, tea sets, doll houses and many more. Outside people usually played football. If the poor families couldn't afford a football they usually kicked around a blown up pig bladder.
The New From The Old
The toys from Victorian times differ from the toys today because of electricity. Kids from the Victorian Era wouldn't have ever thought that someone would create a Xbox, Wii or PlayStation. If we had no electricity then we would have to play with wooden dolls and blocks too. Also these days companies advertise their product on TV. Factories from the Victorian Era couldn't advertise.
