Back to School
We are really looking forward to all pupils coming back to school on Monday. Don’t forget to maintain social distance on the school site, particularly along the pathway to the playground.
Travelling to/from School
We have been asked to distribute the following advice to everyone in order to ensure that your child can travel to and from school safely:
- if you live a short distance from your school or college, walk, cycle or scoot to and from school wherever it is possible and safe to do so
- avoid sharing a car with anyone outside of your household or support bubble
- if you are using public transport to get to school, plan ahead and allow more time for your journey
- if you come to school in the car, please ensure that you park safely and sensitively.
Outdoor Shoes & Warm Clothing
Please also ensure that they have warm clothing with them because additional ventilation will make classrooms colder than usual.
School Lunches
Just a quick reminder that the lunch changes will be in effect from Monday 8th March.
Can you please ensure you discuss the menu each day with your child so they can decide what they would like for lunch. Once they know their choices, they will choose this each morning with their teacher during registration.
If your child starts the week with a school lunch then they will be on school lunches for the whole of that week. If your child starts the week with a packed lunch, they will be on packed lunches for the whole of that week.
Children can switch weekly between school lunches and packed lunches but not daily.
Each day there are 3 choices, either the hot dinner, the sandwich or the jacket potato with a choice of 3 toppings.
World Book Day
Comic Relief
Red Nose Day is back on Friday 19th March and this year it’s never felt more important to have some fun and raise money to support people living incredibly tough lives. Not only do we need to provide safety to families who need support, but also tackle mental health stigma and help to give children a brighter future.
We will also be having a non-uniform day, so the children may come into school wearing fancy dress if they would like. The red noses this year are 100% plastic-free and in the style of woodland creatures, so they may wish to choose an animal theme. Alternatively, Comic Relief are also promoting the ‘superhero’ theme, so that may prove attractive to some children.
We still have a small number of red noses for sale via ParentPay on a first come first served basis, any purchased will be given to the children w/c 8th March.
Reporting a positive Covid result out of hours
Should you believe your child to have Covid-19 symptoms and need to go into self-isolation, please notify the school office in the usual way via phone or email.
Should you receive a ‘test positive’ result for your child it is VITAL that you notify us as soon as possible: During school hours – directly to the school office via 01937 557396.
Out of hours send an email to covid@mf.starmat.uk (stating student’s full name and class, contact phone number, date and time of positive Covid test result – please use TEST POSITIVE in the title)
It is VITAL that you let us know as soon as you possibly can so that we can implement contingency planning.
