Holland Elementary School Message
February 13, 2020
Hello HES Families,
The children seemed really excited today with the upcoming long weekend, and the classroom Valentines parties were the perfect way to end their week. Thanks to all of the parents who dropped off items for the parties or those who came to school to help facilitate activities for the children. I've included many pictures below from our fun and busy week.

Physical Education Class
Your children may have shared with you that our physical education teacher, Mr. Johnson, recently took a leave of absence. The students will really miss Mr. Johnson, but we’re fortunate to have such a talented educator in this position for the remainder of the year - Mrs. Michelle McGill.
Mrs. McGill began her position this week, and we're so excited that she's joining the HES team. At the following LINK, you can read a letter that Mrs. McGill wrote to introduce herself to the HES community. Welcome to HES, Mrs. McGill!
Draw the Future Contest
The Thompson Organization's 29th annual Draw the Future Contest is upon us. Thompson Toyota loves having students’ artwork in their dealerships.
Here are the details:
- The drawing of a Car of the Future should be done on 8 and ½”x 11” white paper (printer paper is fine). Please do not draw on notebook lined paper.
- They can download the entry form HERE or get an entry form from Ms. AuBuchon in the Art room.
- The drawing must be done in color – markers and color pencil work best!
- The entry form must be filled out and taped to the BACK of the drawing.
- Please submit your entry with drawings to Ms. AuBuchon by Tuesday, March 17th. She will take them to Thompson Toyota.
- There is no entry fee for this contest.
- For privacy purposes, students should not put their first names on the fronts of their drawings. Names can go on the back of the drawing.
- Three winners will be chosen from each grade. Prizes will be awarded at a ceremony in April.
- Contestants will be contacted by email regarding contest results.
- All entries will be displayed in the Thompson showrooms throughout the month of April. Families can visit the dealerships to see their drawings!
- Every participant will receive a 2020 Draw the Future t-shirt, which must be picked up – with the child’s drawing – by his or her parents by April 30, 2020.
