Early Years
When she was 12 on a religious trip she fellt a calling, to a religious life. When se was 18 she decided to become a nun. Afterward she worked at Saint Mary's High School for Girls. She worked there for 13 years and durring that time she became principle
A New Calling
In 1946 while on a retreet she fellt a new calling from god. God told her to abandon her teaching and go help others in the slums. 1948 she wonderd out and her only goal was to help the unwanted, the uncared, and the unloved. She the started to the make an open air school for the homeless, and in building she convenced the city to donate she created a home for the dying. Whith the few reacorces and teachers she won canonical recognition from the missionaries of charity?
Expanding her Influence
With increasing amount of money she decided to open up more ways to help. So in the 1950s and 60s she opend up a leper colony, an orphanage, nursing home string of mobile health clinics. In 1971 she went to New York City where she oped up a chirty called a Gift of Love that was for those who have HIV/AIDS. In 1965 she recived the deceleration of praise wich alloued he to expand internationally. By her death in 1997 she had over 4,000 places in 123 countries and on all of the continents.
