New Ensemble Info

Our Band, Orchestra, and Chorus department was excited to announce our new ensembles starting in November! You can click HERE for our parent letter (which explains our new ensembles) and click HERE for the performance evaluation requirements!

Please "take note":

  • Students who are in Wildcat Winds can ALSO be in Symphonic Band!
  • Students will continue to be in lessons group by grade level (if you'd like to be in a lesson group with a friend of a same instrument, let Mrs. Nellis know!)
  • Students can continue to participate in BOTH band/chorus or BOTH band/orchestra

SmartMusic and Performance Assessments

Over the next several weeks, our band students will be completing Performance Assessments during their small group lessons. Students will be performing along with the SmartMusic program and will receive a grade based upon their final performance percentage.

Several students have expressed an interested in purchasing SmartMusic for at-home use. If you are interested, you can learn more and purchase a year-long license HERE. If you choose to purchase SmartMusic, I would strongly recommend purchasing the SmartMusic microphone (on the site), as well.

Springman owns several SmartMusic computers that students are welcome to practice along with. Students who would like to use school SmartMusic should e-mail Mrs. Nellis 24 hours in advance for an appointment.

This week, the performance assessments are...

  • Beginning Band and Intermediate Grade: Essential Elements 1 - Pg. 7 #25
  • 8th Grade: Essential Elements 2 - Pg. 30 #145
