Character Day: September 26
• focusing on humanity with an emphasis on love, kindness, and social intelligence
• talking about what it means to have “good character”, acting it out and making character posters
• tying it to 2nd grade Apple Day by talking about Johnny Appleseed’s good character
• focusing on respect and what that looks like throughout the school
• focusing on respect and kindness using a lesson entitled “I Was Just Kidding!
• reading a book about character and watching a video from Let it Ripple (like the one below)
• showing "30,000 Days" another video from Let it Ripple, and having students reflect on what makes them unique and writing those qualities on color circles. Students also created a brainstorm chart using the circles and drawing arrows connecting to how they could use these special characteristics to help the world be a better place
