SPRING FLING IS HERE!!
SPRING FLING is at last here. The big event is Sunday, April 22nd from 2-5 PM. For a quick link to all that will happen on Sunday go to the SPRING FLING FLIER. Here you will find links to:
- Pre-purchase magic show tickets, and other tickets for cotton candy, popcorn, dunk tank, and the cakewalk. Please note that the PTA is trying to make this event a cashless event so THE items above can be attended by pre-purchasing tickets. If, however, you do not have your tickets pre-purchased by Sunday bring your credit or debit card to purchase tickets on site. We will have card readers.
- We encourage you to VIEW all of the spectacular on-line auction items in advance. On Monday, April 16th the online auction starts 12:00 PM. The site is under construction and the LINK will go live at 12:00 PM on Monday. Enjoy bidding on all the fantastic items. The auction will feature 80 listings valued over $18,000. Some of these items include a night at the Umstead, Beach weekends, camps, birthday parties, restaurant gift cards, and of course the Class Sponsored Gift baskets. The bidding site is constantly being updated with items. Keep visiting the SITE for updates and details.
- Sign up to bring one of your delicious desserts. PTA has alerted all room parents that classes are to provide AT LEAST 5 desserts per class.
Volunteers are still needed for 1 hour shifts AT THE CAKEWALK. To sign up, please follow this LINK. Be on the lookout for more Spring Fling information will be announced, emailed, and texted throughout the upcoming week.

LANDSCAPE VOLUNTEERS IMPROVE PUE LANDSCAPE
LANDSCAPING DAY
Landscaping Day: A GIANT THANK YOU to all the volunteers that helped spruce up the exterior landscape around the school this past Saturday. THANK YOU so much to:
Chrissy Hartsfield, Parker Ress and her two sons, Pauline and Geoff Smith and their daughters Veronica and Evelyn, grandparents Ed and Robin Mussman, Maren Olsen and family, Heather Wilson, and Chris and Valerie DeBruin and their sons Nicolas and Timothy for helping with landscaping day. Check out the pictures to see the improvement.

BOX TOP CONTEST UPDATES:
The Box Tops contest has one week to go. The final collection for this contest will be on Monday, April 23. Time to make a last run at collecting your box tops so your class can win the Limbo Luau Party!
The following classes are in the lead:
1st place - Mrs. Potter's Track 1, 4th grade class with 675 collected
2nd place - Mrs. Hay's Track 3, 4th grade class with 469 collected
3rd place - Mrs. McKearney's Track 1, 3rd grade class with 315 collected
2018-19 Pleasant Union Status/Current PUE Parents:
Please alert our Data Manager Mrs. Baginski (jbaginski@wcpss.net) or the PUE Front Office by April 23rd if your child is NOT returning to PUE or WCPSS for the upcoming 2018-19 school year ~ (ie Charter/Private/Moving out of county) ~ WCPSS requires a signed note or an email from the parent stating that your child is NOT returning to our school(s).

NATIONAL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL WEEK:
National Assistant Principal Week, a recently created national recognition for all the contributions of Assistant Principals to schools was formally recognized last week. However, our Assistant Principal Mrs. Fricke was out much of the week under the weather. As a result we will celebrate this special recognition throughout this week. If you are on campus this week please share a thank you with Mrs. Fricke for all she does to help make our school a better place for the students, staff and families.

DISTRICT 3 BOARD ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING:
Tomorrow, Monday, April 16 Pleasant Union will host the District 3 Board Advisory Committee Meeting. Parents are welcome for the business session beginning at 6:00. Guest Speaker will be temporary Superintendent Dr. Del Burns.
