Holiday Help

We have many local groups who have reached out to assist families with the holidays. If your family could benefit or you know of a family who could benefit from extra support for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas, please reach out to our counselor, Mrs. Bridgewater. All requests are handled with care and confidentiality.

Spotlight on STEM!

Cherokee County School District’s Future Ready Graduate

Along with Cherokee County School District (CCSD), Ball Ground Elementary STEM Academy is focused on working to ensure all students have access to lessons, resources, and programs that build associated, future ready skillsets.

The skillsets, which were identified with input from students, parents, teachers, support staff and leaders are:

• THINKER: Think critically and creatively to solve problems

• COMMUNICATOR: Listen, communicate and interact effectively

• CONTRIBUTOR: Engage and contribute in work, life and in the world

• LEARNER: Seek knowledge and skills to apply to new situations

• COLLABORATOR: Collaborate with others to achieve a common purpose

• LEADER: Exhibit strong personal qualities, set goals and achieve balance

BGSA’s focus on preparing future ready graduates begins with encompassing a commitment to ensuring lessons, resources, and experiences are provided to expose students to these future ready skillsets, careers, and both college preparation and career readiness program careers.

STEM in Action!

Kindergarteners used the Problem-Solving Process to ask, “How can I make a boat that floats?”

They then planned and designed boats. They tested their boats and shared their results with their peers using a graphic organizer!
