LAF Book Fair
Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for your Lafayette kids reading level. Children will go twice to the fair during school hours: once to preview the books and write a wish list and the second time to buy.
Please make plans to visit our Book Fair on Monday evening with your family and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits. The book fair will not run without your help so please be sure to sign up to volunteer at http://signup.com/go/BFmTSWC
Book Fair dates: Friday, October 19th – 1:00 PM -3:30 PM
Monday, October 22nd -- 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM
- Join us after the Mini Marathon: Mexican Spice Food Truck and ice cream will be available on the playground
Tuesday, October 23rd -- 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Wednesday, October 24th -- 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Thursday, October 25th -- 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Please go to our school's homepage http://www.scholastic.com/bf/lafayetteelementaryschool14 to visit our online Book Fair starting October 14th and to set up eWallet. We look forward to seeing you and your family at our Book Fair! Remember, all purchases benefit our school.
eWallet is a secure, cash free way for a child to shop the BookFair. Parents create an account online and authorize a spending limit to have funds immediately available for their child when they come to the fair.
Walk to School Wednesday
If you would like to volunteer to help on Wednesday morning, it's always a fun time. You can join us at LAF from 8:10 am-8:45 am as we welcome kids to school for Walk to School Wednesday. There will be music and if we can pull it off with enough helpers, we'll also have a fun game and hand out some giveaways. Please reach out to Jessica.Romeo@Gmail.com if you are available to help on this fun morning!
Apple Sampling at LAF - October 11
We are looking for a few parents to volunteer during our October Sampling Day on October 11th. We will be handing out samples of apples. If you are able to help pass out samples, please email Jessica.Romeo@gmail.com - Thanks!!
CEF Trivia Night
The Chatham Education Foundation is thrilled to be gearing up to host its 6th Annual Trivia Night, which will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 8 PM. Get the hottest tickets in town before they sell out, which they most certainly will. This year, back by popular demand, Chatham Education Foundation is pleased to once again offer two venues of play, Mountainview Gym and Fish & Game. Two fabulous MCs, Patrick Grady (Mountainview) and Chris Tomaino (Fish & Game) will usher contestants through a rousing night of who done it, what is it, and how many. Registration begins promptly at 9 PM on Thursday, October 4th. Come flex your mental muscles against Chatham’s best, including last year’s winners, Night at the Museum, and close at their heels, the runner-up, After the Rosé. Don’t miss the chance to show just how “HQ” your IQ is. Oh, and start planning your costumes now. Extra credit will be awarded. After all, it is Chatham! Please check out the Chatham Education Foundation website at www.chathamedfoundation.org. Feel free to email questions to email@example.com.
