Community Conversations
November 2022
Dear Methacton Families,
This is not your typical turkey and stuffing talk. I want to share some really important matters:
First -- This school community is amazing! We come together to support our students, to support our staff and to support each other. We are a school community that is thankful and forever hopeful in our quest educate, support, and grow the future.
Second -- I am grateful for all the volunteers that make each day exceptional. Beginning this year, I will be recognizing monthly our volunteers along with support and professional staff via the Methacton Award of Excellence. We appreciate our volunteers and I ask that you consider becoming one – find out how here.
We will be starting an alternative energy/sustainability task force in the coming months to seek input to best support the district’s mission and develop actionable sustainable strategic priorities and solutions. Look for more on this after the New Year.
The 2021-2022 Methacton School District Annual Report will be landing in mailboxes across our school community in the next several days. A digital version can be found here.
Alumni Spotlight – I, like you, am so very proud of our alumni. There are many great things that our graduates from the past 50 plus years have done. They have been some of the country’s most inspiring entrepreneurs. They have been protecting our country and our communities. They have been some of the most extraordinary athletes, artists, musicians, writers, and poets. They have served in local government and have volunteered their time to make a difference. They have returned to Methacton to educate the future, and they have been admirable parents, spouses, and contributing members of the communities in which they live. In case you missed it, check out November’s Alumni Spotlight feature on Ryann Hierholzer, MHS ’08.
While we continue to recognize alumni in our Alumni Spotlight newsletter monthly, it is also important that you know an Alumni Association has formed in which you can now become part of – to reconnect – to reengage and to revisit your memories and create new ones. Consider joining today! If you want to get involved or have questions, contact info@methactonalumni.org.
And one final reminder -- eat, laugh, reflect, nap, and eat again…. Please enjoy today, every day, and most certainly -- enjoy your Thanksgiving!
Now let’s take a look at some of the events and achievements that took place across the district in November...
