Message From Principal Johnson
We have made it to the tenth day of school and it has been an absolute thrill to welcome your scholars to RRCS. Cougar Nation started our year with grade level meetings with administration and our Annual Opening Ceremony. By now, our students understand our school's vision, mission and theme: Relationships & Rigor Create Success at Reid Ross Classical School! As our theme for this year states, our staff are focused on ensuring scholars develop positive relationships and challenging students to be problem solvers and creative thinkers.
The RRCS expectation that all students possess high academic standards and phenomenal character will continue this school year. Therefore, I am requesting that all guardians take a moment to review our PBIS Matrix located on page 22 in the RRCS Student Agenda with your scholars. In addition, please encourage your scholar to get involved with our various activities and clubs on campus, such as the Greenhouse Club featured below.
Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to inform you that Assistant Principal Etchison's last day with the Cougar Family will be on Monday, July 31, 2023. On behalf of all RRCS stakeholders, we thank her for her service to our school community and wish her the best of luck with her new endeavor. Please read her heartfelt message to everyone below. #OnceACougarAlwaysACougar
To all RRCS Stakeholders, it is my absolute pleasure to serve the RRCS community, and I look forward to working with each of you as we collectively ensure each scholars' success this school year.
Farewell Ms. Etchison!
Assistant Principal Etchison
Graduation 2023
To all the families and students of the Reid Ross Classical community:
My time at Reid Ross as an Assistant Principal is quickly coming to a close. I will be staying
with Cumberland County Schools and moving to Mac Williams Middle School as of August 1st .
To say I have been blessed by the Reid Ross Community these past five years would be the
understatement of the century. I was welcomed into this school and community and made to feel
like I was part of the family from the beginning. I want to express my sincere gratitude for
allowing me the opportunity to serve you and your children during the past five years. We have
had many ups and downs, as families do, but we have persevered because we have had each
other to lean on and to look towards for support. Your families and children have made me into
the person and leader I am today and I mean it when I say that my time at Reid Ross has changed
my life for the better. I move into this next chapter with my cup and heart overflowing with pride
and love for all the wonderful memories we have created and the work we have done. I will
always love your children as if they were my own and I will continue to be cheering them on
throughout their journeys. The picture above is of our most recent graduation. This is one of
many students I had the opportunity to watch go from Middle School to High School and then to
graduation. I cannot thank you enough for allowing me to have all of these wonderful moments
with your children. As the saying goes, “this is not goodbye, just see you later”. I love you all
from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for everything!
Yours in education,
Christin Etchison
