A Note from Our Nurse
For the health of your student and other children, always refer to our district health policy when trying to determine if your child should attend school.
The following is particularly important at this time of year:
- Children should not come to school with a fever of 100 or higher, diarrhea or vomiting. Students should remain at home for a full 24 hours following fever, diarrhea or vomiting. Student should be fever free without fever reducing medication.
- Stress importance of hand-washing after using the restroom and before eating.
- Cover coughs and sneezes with a tissue or arm.
- Elementary age children should be getting 8-10 hours of sleep each night.
- Encourage and provide a healthy diet.
Thank you for doing your part in making Austin a healthy place to learn.
