“Can” You Share the Love?

The Student Lighthouse Team is excited to announce our canned food drive benefiting Northville Civic Concern. Please send in unopened canned or boxed food and put it in the box with your classroom teacher's name on it.

Our drive will run from February 3rd through the 14th. This year we will have a contest to see which classes can donate the most items. The winners from upper elementary and lower elementary will each earn a pizza party!

We would also like to set a school goal of collecting 500 items. If we are able to reach that goal, the whole school will earn an extra recess. Let's synergize and make this year's food drive a success!

Valentine's Day Sucker Sale to support Kids Against Hunger

This year the third graders will be having a Valentine Sucker Sale to help raise money for an amazing organization known as Kids Against Hunger.

Beginning Tuesday, February 4th through Wednesday, February 12th, students will have an opportunity to buy a Valentine sucker for a special valentine or valentines for only 50 cents!

Suckers will be sold before school and during lunch and will be delivered to your classrooms on Valentine's Day. Make sure to buy your suckers early, because once we run out, the sale will be over.

If you'd rather make a donation instead of buying suckers, that's an option too. It's a win-win! Give some love and show some love to help support our fundraiser for Kids Against Hunger!

Thank you from the Silver Springs Dad's Club!

The Silver Springs Dad’s Club would like to thank everyone who came out for the Silver Springs Souper Bowl Challenge in conjunction with unveiling of this year’s #WhyYouMatter campaign last Friday night.

We would especially like to thank all of the participants who shared their incredible soups as contestants. Congratulations to all of our winners, and we look forward to seeing everyone again at next year’s event.

Thank you all for your support of the Silver Springs Dad’s club, and our school’s community.

Thank you, PTA!!!

Your participation in Invest in Your Child and membership in the PTA make great things possible.

Our staff are grateful for your support and express their appreciation in thoughtful notes.

Students asked for recess equipment and the PTA delivered.

Thank you for your generous support. We could not do it without you!

Supporting the The 7 Habits at home!

7-Habits Take Home Activity for January

This month’s Habit: Habit 4 Think Win-Wing

Activity: Win-Win Organizer

Due Date: February 28, 2019

Habit #4 - Think Win-Win- Everyone can Win!

What this means: Think about others as well as yourself. Long-term relationships require mutual respect and mutual benefit.

“I make deposits into others’ Emotional Bank Accounts.”

“When conflict arises, I look for third alternatives.”

“I balance courage for getting what I want, with

consideration for what others want.”

How can I do this in my life?

1. Live by the Golden Rule- Treat others the same way you want them to treat you.

Great Books for Habit #4- Think Win Win

The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister

Chrysanthemum by Kevin Henkes

Lilly’s Big Day by Kevin Henkes

Alexander and the Wind-Up Mouse by Leo Lionni

Let’s Be Enemies by Janice May Udry
