Happy New Year

Happy New Year! I am excited about the New Year and all of the great things that will happen this year! As a team, we will continue to push forward and stay focused on not only increasing academic achievement, but nurturing and growing the whole child. There are many obstacles that we face in our personal lives as well as work lives. There are many obstacles that children face at school and at home. We have to "Keep Pounding", stay grounded, and remember that we are living and working with agency and urgency. We have the ability to make positive changes and we want to make sure that every minute counts. Please take a few moments to watch the video. I hope that it inspires you!

Many blessings to you and your family in the New Year!

Panthers Playoff Hype Mix || Why Do we Fall? || Carolina Panthers

Kudos to you! MAP data showed a lot of growth in most areas and grade levels. Most grade levels met the goals that they set for themselves and exceeded grade level expectations. Keep up the great work. You are working hard and it does not go unnoticed.

I emailed MOY MAP data at the beginning of the week. As you plan instruction, please make sure to use this to help drive RTI group instruction as well as morning work or homework. Please bring IPads to planning so that we can look at the Learning Continuum in MAP to help us when we discuss RTI instruction.

As a friendly reminder, please make sure that the data wall is updated. Analyze your class and revamp groups based on your data. Did students in blue move down? If so, then they may need to be pulled more. Look at your data and adjust instruction accordingly.

RTI Plans

RTI has been a focus this year. Please make sure that RTI plans are detailed in on-course.

Math Curriculum Night

Are you ready? Do you feel like your presentation will be beneficial for families? As you establish what you will do, ask yourself, "If I were a parent, would this be beneficial to me in order for me to help my child at home?" If the answer is no, please revamp! Think from a parents perspective rather than a teacher's perspective. Thanks for your hard work and dedication!

TRC and Running Records

This is a friendly reminder to complete MOY benchmark reading leveling for your students.

The deadline is January 27th. Please keep all student written responses until the beginning of the year next year. This is for auditing purposes as well as to answer any questions about a child's reading level. Grades 4-5- If you have students reading below level L, please email me their names so that I can assess them for you.
