Taiga & Tropical Rain Forest

Tropical Rain Forest - Reproductive Adaptions

  • Some plants climb on others to reach the sunlight.
  • Smooth bark and smooth or waxy flowers speed the run off of water.
  • Plants have shallow roots to help capture nutrients from the top level of soil.
  • Drip tips and waxy surfaces allow water to run off, to discourage growth of bacteria and fungi.

Tropical Rainforest - Evolutionarily Significant

  • The hot and humid climate allows more solar energy to the system.
  • With the environment being stable it allows for animals to interact better and not have to hide out because of cold weather.
  • The rainforest is a better hide out from predators for some animals because it is so camouflaged.
