Taiga & Tropical Rain Forest
By : Mandy Ortega
Tropical Rain Forest - Reproductive Adaptions
- Some plants climb on others to reach the sunlight.
- Smooth bark and smooth or waxy flowers speed the run off of water.
- Plants have shallow roots to help capture nutrients from the top level of soil.
- Drip tips and waxy surfaces allow water to run off, to discourage growth of bacteria and fungi.
Tropical Rainforest - Evolutionarily Significant
- The hot and humid climate allows more solar energy to the system.
- With the environment being stable it allows for animals to interact better and not have to hide out because of cold weather.
- The rainforest is a better hide out from predators for some animals because it is so camouflaged.
Taiga
Large temperature range between seasons, but the long and cold winter is the dominant feature.
Tropical Rain Forest
Has a very hot climate , yet rains a lot . This weather condition can also be a bad thing such as promoting growth of bacteria and fungi that will cause harm to plants.
Taiga
Reproduction Adaptions- Some of these adaptations include their shape, leaf type, root system, and color. the ground freezes during the winter months and plant roots are unable to get water.
