A Message From Mrs. Hollowell
Dear Empresa Families,
I want to share with you all that in the next few weeks, I am scheduled for a routine surgical procedure that requires me to take a short medical leave. I anticipate being out for about 4 weeks. While I am so sad to have to be away from our Empresa community, I am confident in the capable hands that will continue to nurture and support our school while I am away.
I am pleased to share that Ms. Lentz, along with an esteemed interim principal, Mrs. Lori Higley, will oversee operations during my absence. Mrs. Higley brings a wealth of experience, having served as a retired principal and director within the Vista Unified School District. Mrs. Higley is so excited to have the opportunity to join our Empresa community for the month.
I am grateful for your understanding and support during this time, and I look forward to returning to serve our community soon.
Empresa's Blanket Drive - 3 more days!
Please Donate New Blankets 2/5 - 2/14
The students in Mrs. Keenan's kindergarten class, Mrs. Arvidson's 3rd grade class, and Mrs. Larson's 5th grade class are organizing a blanket drive to help unhoused citizens in San Diego County. They are partnering with Streets of Hope to help meet this important need. This is a Deep Learning project that provides our students with opportunities to develop the skills of Communication, Critical Thinking, Creativity, Character, Citizenship, and Collaboration.
Please donate new blankets between now and February 14th. Thank you for being a difference maker in our community.
Student Safety is our #1 Priority!
Additionally STUDENTS MAY ONLY EXIT FROM THE PASSENGER SIDE OF YOUR VEHICLE and parents are not supposed to exit the car. If you child can not independently exit the car using the passenger side then please legally park on the street and walk your child into school. This week a child was almost hit by their own parent's car because they were not following this important safety rule!
