Parent Technology Survey Due Jan 15 - Please help us get a student laptop cart!

Parents please click the link below to fill out a 5 minute survey to help Keller ISD make technology decisions for our district. This is an anonymous survey (outside of your identifying which campus your students attend) and will help the district choose the right technology for the classrooms in Keller ISD.

The campus in Keller ISD with the greatest response to the survey gets a laptop cart with 30 Dell laptops. We would love to have these for our students!

Thank you for your time and ideas! The deadline for responding to the survey is January 15.

Pictured above, TMS house student presidents and vice-presidents from Busara, Luova, Stryke, and Tipo met all day Thursday, January 7 to plan our house day activities for the remainder of the year and our year-end house banquet.

If you would like to purchase the yearbook at school a yearbook flyer is available in the eMonday folder, http://bit.ly/1QLEE2B, and for pick-up in the TMS front office.

Hawks Learn - Featuring Unique Learning Moments

Each week we will feature a unique learning activity, lesson, or moment submitted by students, teachers or administrators.

This week's experience comes from Ms. Glenda Kemmerling-Wilson who shared the following:

"We have been analyzing musical pieces on how it relates to worldly issues and creates rhyme. We have been transforming our learning and creating idioms (which is pretty hard for us since it is figuratively speaking and we love taking on a challenge). Writing individual goals to accomplish for the rest of the school year. We love to read at TMS!"

Nurse's Notes

Vision and Hearing Screening

Vision and hearing screening was done November 30th and December 1st for students in 5th and 7th grades and students new to Keller ISD in 6th and 8th grades. We are in the process of doing rescreens on students who did not pass. We will call parent/guardians for students who did not pass and we will also send letters to parents notifying of the results. Please call if you have questions.

Students are also screened for a marker called Acanthosis Nigricans. This can mean that the child has a predisposition for Type 2 diabetes later in life. We ask that you take the results to your Primary Care Physician and they can do a further evaluation on your child. Early detection can help make life style changes that may prevent your child from developing Type 2 diabetes later. For additional information please see the pamphlet located here, http://bit.ly/1lZShS0.

Please call or email if you have further questions.
