Important Quarterly Check Testing Information

Quarterly Checks – Quarter 1Information

Quarterly Checks are now here! MS courses that have a Quarterly Check (Math, Science, Social Studies, ELA) will test during the week of 10/1-10/5 and HS courses that have a Quarterly Check (Math, Science Social Studies, ELA) will test during the week of 10/8-10/12. Computer carts have already been assigned to teachers administering online and paper based materials will need to be picked up in the Media Center on testing days. Please read QC Info emails for more details.

PLC’s will test as follows:

10/1-10/2 MS Social Studies & MS Math
10/3-10/4 MS ELA & MS Science
10/5 MS Make-ups in Media Center
10/8-10/9 HS Social Studies & HS Math
10/10-10/11 HS ELA & HS Science
10/12 HS Make-ups in Media Center

Check the Quarterly Check folder under Assessments in SharePoint for additional resources.

***Late Friday afternoon, the ACT announced that the ACT-NCR administration scheduled for 10/2-10/5 must be postponed until at least 10/16. The ACT cited a security concern that had nothing to do with CCMHS and delayed testing at all schools. We have tentatively scheduled to test on 10/16-10/18 following the same schedule and conditions as stated below. THE MEDIA CENTER IS OPEN TO ALL STAFF AND STUDENTS FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK.

All seniors who haven't met the Algebra 1 EOC and/or FSA ELA graduation assessment requirement will participate in the ACT-Non College Reporting exam. Students will test the section(s) that they lack to fulfill graduation requirements (i.e. a student needing only Algebra 1 will not test English or Reading). Any senior that has not completed the pre-bubble session will do so on Monday.

Students will receive triple time to complete each section. However, students will be released individually from the Media Center with a PINK pass as they finish. Students taking the English will also sit for the Reading session.

Tues: English

Wed: Mathematics

Thur: Reading

SAT-NCR Testing on Wed 10/10

All seniors who haven't met the Algebra 1 EOC and/or FSA ELA graduation assessment requirement will participate in the SAT-Non College Reporting exam on Wednesday, 10/10. This is a one day only exam and all students will sit for the entire test. The student roster will be the same as the ACT-NCR.

PSAT-NMSQT Testing on Wed 10/24

All sophomores (and any freshman or juniors who registered) will participate in the PSAT-National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test on Wednesday, 10/24. This is an extremely important exam for our students as it provides access to the National Merit Scholarship program and many other scholarship opportunities. In addition, the PSAT serves as a concordant score to the Algebra 1 EOC for any student that did not pass the FSA Algebra 1 EOC in the spring. Please encourage all of our Coyote testers to do prepare and do their very best!

Actionable Items

All Teachers- EOC Survey

As part of our partnership with Equal Opportunity Schools, we are asking each staff member to take a 30-minute online survey designed to gather important information. The data will be presented back to us later this winter so that we can better understand how to build on what is already working to enhance equity in our school. Please use your staff email address as your login to the survey (see link below).

Phase 1: Climate Survey

This is the questionnaire regarding staff experiences, equity, barriers to advanced coursework, and staff assets. Often, people who don't teach work with or have their own children who are in classes. We are curious about both teaching and non-teaching staff’s valuable feedback and perceptions about student preparation for AP, the challenge of non-honors courses, and other key issues. For non-teaching staff, many questions have a "not applicable/do not know" option and the few that don't tend to provide an "other" response that staff can use to share that they don't currently teach and so don't have an opinion.

Please be as honest and frank as you can. This information will NOT be tied back to you or used for evaluative purposes.

Submit a Faculty Howlout!

“Faculty Howlout’s will drive our selections for Staff Member of the Week. Each week we will announce all of our HS and MS Coyote staff members of the week! These staff members will have their names announced on the intercom on Friday. At the end of the quarter the Staff Members of the Week will be invited to a special luncheon in their honor! We look forward to receiving numerous staff shout outs so we have many to select from each week!”

Submit a Student Howlout!

Student howlouts will drive our selections for Student of the Week. Each week we will select two HS and two MS students as the Coyotes of the Week. At the end of the week these students will be invited down to the flag pole in the center of the courtyard where we will have a Coyote Flag to be raised on Friday. These students will get the honor of raising the flag each Friday, and will have their names announced on the intercom! At the end of the quarter we will have a breakfast for all of our Students of the Week and their parents.
